Denbighshire county council: don't evict homeless people from the Westminster hotel on Rhyl seafront.

Denbighshire County Council are planning to evict homeless people who are placed at the Westminster Hotel on a temporary basis because their presence might have "a potential negative impact on the tourist and regeneration programmes for the town".

Homeless people, some with families, are already vulnerable and should not be put in this situation. This is social cleansing, and we believe that it's wrong. We're calling on DCC to keep them housed at the Westminster until they find a suitable long term solution.

Homless families are not getting the help they need, homless charities are loosing funding or struggling because there is no strong support network. Councils and parliment should be bloody ashamed of themselves and stop wasting money on monuments fancy offices and corporate events, this money could build homes!

Do NOT evict these vulnerable people, but find them decent housing so they can start to rebuild their lives.

Show some compassion and care for your residents in the county – and especially in Rhyl.

The Council need to do the right thing and build new social housing in the area which is innovative and award-winning – that is how you will impress visitors and tourists.
