LDP Unfit for purpose

Denbighshire County Council are preparing to start work on the Council's new Local Development Plan. The Local Development Plan is the legal document which shows what land is eligible to be developed for housing and commercial purposes.

Cllr. Mabon ap Gwynfor said: "We are inpatient in our need to move forward and get a new LDP in place as soon as possible, one that is fit for purpose, rather than the one which was forced on the Council by the Labour Welsh Government who seem to be putting the needs of developers first rather than the needs of our communities

"The current LDP is not fit for purpose. The growth figures provided by the Welsh Government have been proven to be wildly inaccurate, and the Government's Planning Inspectorate told Denbighshire Council to adopt a lower percentage of affordable housing against all the evidence and advice available at the time. The Cabinet Secretary should let us get on with developing an LDP that answers the needs of our communities."
