Local Development Plan delay unhelpful
Responding to delays in Denbighshire County Council's Local Development Plan because of intereference from the Labour Welsh Government, Councillor Mabon ap Gwynfor said: "The Cabinet Secretary's intervention is unhelpful and I have no doubt that it will have delayed things. We are inpatient in our need to move forward and get a new LDP in place as soon as possible, one that is fit for purpose, rather than the one which was forced on the Council by the Labour Welsh Government who seem to be putting the needs of developers first rather than the needs of our communities.

Fears for the future of Denbigh Infirmary were raised as more than 100 people attended a meeting to discuss health concerns in the town and wider Denbighshire area on Thursday.
The community hospital has seen the closure of 10 beds and local councillor Rhys Thomas raised concerns that this was creating uncertainty among staff, which could undermine the future of the Infirmary.

Those were the damning words of the councillor tasked with developing Denbighshire Council’s previous Local Development Plan.
Councillor Eryl Williams spoke out as Denbighshire Council was preparing its four-year review of their Local Development Plan.
