Oppose Dumping Nuclear Waste in Wales

The Labour Welsh Government along with their Conservative counterparts in London are asking communities across Wales to consider accepting nuclear waste in return for money.

This radioactive material will continue to be dangerous to human health and the environment for hundreds of thousands of years. We oppose any attempt by both Governments to bribe our communities into accepting this toxic waste.

For hundreds of years, Wales has contributed large amounts of resources (copper, coal, slate, water) to the UK economy. And the scars are there to see. Now it has been hollowed out, it is being asked to accept the UK’s nuclear waste. Its beautiful landscape is already marred by numerous slag heaps and two ugly nuclear power plants (Wylfa and Trawsfynydd). Enough is enough!

WE DO NOT WANT TO BECOME THE DUMPING GROUND FOR THE UK’S NUCLEAR WASTE!!

I was born in Wales and lived there for most of my life. How dare people risk the lives of my countrymen/women! We’ve been “raped” before (Alexander Cordell, READ) Never again.

Nuclear waste should not be dumped in Wales. The environmental impact is too great a risk for the earth and wildlife. We all belong to this planet. We don’t own it.

What makes them think we would accept it? Those who decided that we should have nuclear power when we could have wave power for instance, should take the nuclear waste themselves

This starts with you
