Oppose Dumping Nuclear Waste in Wales

The Labour Welsh Government along with their Conservative counterparts in London are asking communities across Wales to consider accepting nuclear waste in return for money.

This radioactive material will continue to be dangerous to human health and the environment for hundreds of thousands of years. We oppose any attempt by both Governments to bribe our communities into accepting this toxic waste.

Brilliant take an area of outstanding natural beauty and make it unusable. That is really going to help the local economy NOT.

Denbighshire has a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in addition to a coastline that attracts tourists and visitors of all ages. How much revenue does this bring to the County?

It would be a crime to pollute our beautiful country in this way and as a mother of three the prospect of nuclear waste so close to home horrifies me. It’s time we moved on to cleaner energy too.

There is enough solution in Denbighshire without this extra toxic addition! Are you trying to kill us all off? Who will. pay the council tax then!

Accept 30 pieces of silver to destroy our part of the Country? Absolutely not. Why would anybody think dumping this material is acceptable to us. Find somewhere in London – that place is already polluted.

Any amount of money is not worth accepting when this dangerous nuclear waste will be here for centuries. I’ve lived near Sellafield and know that the management of waste is far from perfect.

Nuclear waste is massively dangerous and should be taken into account before building any more nuclear power stations. If the waste issue had been properly thought out and not ignored, we would not be promoting nuclear, but rather, supporting renewable energy – clean energy to protect our land and wildlife for our children and generations to come. Nobody in their right mind wants deadly radioactive waste on their doorstep, in the sea, or anywhere … destroying all life and habitats, that we most desperately need to flourish. Debighshire is no place to house nuclear waste.
