MOTHBALLED CREAMERY SHOULD NOT MEAN END OF DAIRY PROCESSING IN VALE OF CLWYD

Mothballing the Arla creamery at Llandyrnog should not mean the end of dairy processing at the site, according to Plaid Cymru's North Wales AM Llyr Gruffydd.

He made his comments after a meeting with the Arla group, a multinational cooperative owned by farmers throughout Europe, at the site today.

Scrapping council merger plans welcomed

The announcement that Labour’s Welsh Government has once again abandoned its plans to merge County Councils has been welcomed by Plaid Cymru in Denbighshire.

The Welsh Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Local Government announced at last week’s Welsh Local Government Conference that he was “happy to withdraw the map” and that there would be no reorganisation.

The Welsh Government’s attempt at reforming Local Authority is a waste of time and money, say Plaid Cymru councillors in Denbighshire.

Denbighshire Council met today to agree on its official response to the Welsh Government’s Green Paper into Local Government Reform.

Plaid Cymru Group Leader, Cllr Arwel Roberts, said: “The Labour Government is trying to force county councils to merge against the will of the people and local democratic opinion.
