Council to officially oppose Government proposals on farming future
Denbighshire County Council will officially oppose the Welsh Government’s consultation into Welsh farming, titled Brexit and Our Land, because of concerns that the proposals would have a negative impact on the local economy.
The Plaid Cymru group on Denbighshire County Council put forward a motion calling for Denbighshire to “(oppose) the proposals until the Welsh Government produces a comprehensive and detailed assessment of the potential impact to jobs and the economy in Denbighshire”.
Families urged to consider adoption
More people in Denbighshire are being urged to consider adopting so that every child can receive the love and stability they need in order to live a fulfilling life.
The Plaid Cymru Group on Denbighshire County Council made the call to coincide with the National Adoption Week.
Controversial Kingdom pulls out of Denbighshire
The controversial littering firm, Kingdom Security, have announced that they will cease their contract with Denbighshire County Council in mid-August.
Plaid Cymru Group Leader on Denbighshire County Council, Cllr. Arwel Roberts, said: "Plaid Cymru have long called for the Kingdom contract to be terminated. Numbers from Denbighshire show that Kingdom were making their money in our most deprived communities, targeting smokers but not managing to tackle the problem of dog-fouling which is why they were brought into the County in the first place.
Schoolbeat funding u-turn welcomed
A Welsh Government u-turn on funding a school liaison programme has been welcomed by Plaid Cymru’s Llyr Gruffydd AM and the North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner Arfon Jones.
Plaid Cymru had campaigned for police links with schools to be maintained after the Government decided to axe the Schoolbeat school liaison programme.

Denbighshire County Council could play an increasing role in tackling climate change as it looks at the possibility of increasing the number of electrical vehicle charging points across the county, and evaluates the use of potential alternative fuel sources to run its fleet of vehicles.
